Students and Residents

STUDENTS:

  • The American Student Dental Association is the nation's largest student run organization and is the only national association devoted to dental student concerns and the student viewpoint on professional issues.
  • Joining ASDA is the only way to become a student member of the American Dental Association. ASDA members in New York State are automatically members of NYSDA. This provides students a link to a powerful professional network at the state, local and national levels. Your membership entitles you to receive free copies of NYSDA's clinical and scientific publication, The New York State Dental Journal, distributed by your ASDA representative.
  • Delegates from each dental school in New York State meet annually with the NYSDA Council on the New Dentist and the Council on Membership and Communications.

RESIDENTS:

  • Graduate student membership is available to any dentist who is engaged full-time in an ADA accredited residency or advanced education program of not less than one academic year’s duration.
  • Take advantage of all the benefits of membership now for only $30 ($30 ADA dues and $0 NYSDA dues) per membership year.
  • Looking for an associateship position? If you are a doctor looking for an associateship position, you can advertise free-of-charge in three consecutive issues of The Journal and three months on the NYSDA website. Find out more.
  • You’ll also be eligible for reduced membership dues your first five years out of school/residency, provided you maintain your ADA membership.
