Amalgam separators

Most New York State dentists will be required to install an amalgam separator by May 12, 2008.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) maintains a list of suppliers whose products are compliant with the department's guidelines. Included on the list is the SolmeteX separator, a product endorsed by NYSDA and numerous component dental societies.

SolmeteX, holds numerous patents and is the recipient of several awards for technologies that safely and economically remove metals from water. The filtration separator requires no daily maintenance, provides the most direct recycling, and is more than 99.8% effective. NYSDA members receive a free replacement cartridge worth $170 upon installation.   • Orthodontists
  • Periodontists
  • Prosthodontists
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
