State seeking Medicaid providers

Many dentist providers in the New York State Medicaid program find it to be a source of stable revenue. Those who do not participate may be unaware of Medicaid’s improved fee schedule and the efficiencies of the electronic claims processing and eligibility verification programs now available. New York’s Medicaid reimbursement rates exceed those of many managed care plans.

The New York State Department of Health has sent mailings to dentists urging their participation in New York State’s Medicaid program. Members are encouraged to review and give serious consideration to the solicitation. All New Yorkers, especially the underserved, need improved access to affordable and quality care.

Training classes for new and existing providers are available at various locations throughout the state. These sessions cover a variety of topics such as billing and procedural information. For details, visit www.emedny.org/training/index.aspx.
