The House of Delegates, comprised of one hundred and one (101) voting members, is the supreme authoritative body of the New York State Dental Association.
The duty of the House of Delegates is to:
- Elect the elective officers
- Elect the members of the Board of Trustees
- Elect the Trustee representing the Second Trustee District of the American Dental Association (subject to approval of the House of Delegates of the American Dental Association in accordance with its Bylaws)
- Elect the members of the councils and commissions (except otherwise noted in the NYSDA Bylaws)
- Elect the delegates and alternate delegates to the American Dental Association (in accordance with Chapter XIII, Section 30 of the NYSDA Bylaws)
- Receive and act upon reports of the councils and committees of the House of Delegates
- Adopt an annual budget and establish the dues of active members for the following year
- Serve as the court of appeal from decisions of the Council on Ethics (except those decisions involving discipline of members)
